DAY 551: R.BROWN DOES JOSI TOWN

Thanks to the Kings of Leon's wimpy ass drummer who got some "arm hernia" and decided to postpone their tour to South Africa, I had no choice but to swap my ticket to U2's 360 degree concert in Jozi Town.

I'll admit, they're not my most fave band. I h
ave none of their albums and know very few of their songs, but I have to say those old toppie rockers pulled a pretty sweet show out the bag. Everything about it was impressive. The giant, expandable 360 degree screen, the moving bridges over the stage, the light spectacular, the crowd of around 120 000 people. But the most impressive part of the show for me was Bono himself. I think he's the only rocker in the world who can swing from a LED lit microphone in an 80's black leather jacket, whilst still managing to convince people that he is the next Jesus Christ.

BONO:
WHAT TIME IS IT IN THE WORLD? IT'S SHOW TIME!

The stadium calabash in the sky.

120 000 ants filing in. The awesome view from the cheap seats
.

Bono playing God again by making his own private
Milky Way from the audience's cell phone screens.

The light fantastic and the expandable screen.
